I just used this last night to separate both ball joints on a pitman arm (center link) of a transit bus. I used a shallow 27mm socket to turn the pressing screw, and the link was free in minutes; which is in stark contrast to the last time I tried to break a ball joint and spent hours with a 12 or 15-lb sledge and an oxy-acetylene setup, and got nowhere! I recommend the 40mm version of this tool for busses and heavy trucks, because my coworker ordered the 36mm (seeing mine), and it barely fit his job, so he ended up getting the 40mm anyway. Pro tip: anti-seize the taper of the new joint to save the next mechanic (possibly you) some struggle when removing the component down the line.
